Northbound on the R27 West Coast Road (65km from Cape Town) Vyge Vallei invites you to a one-stop experience of all the area has to offer.  The Farm Shop (open daily: 07h00-18h00) caters for the hungry, while kiddies run and enjoy the freedom of farm life.  Home-made jams, farm breads, pies and pastries with a mixture of exciting curios, indigenous plants and local crafts makes this a favorite and safe Info stop for all.  Besides tourist info, even potential property investors can be att4ended to by 3 Estate Agents disguised as shopkeepers.  The wine shop known as Darling Wijnhuis (open Mon-Sat: 09h00-18h00) stocks a mixture of the best wines in the area.  Regular wine tasting and all year round oil painting exhibitors are held here.  Petrol available from our filling station (Vygevlei Plaasgarage open daily: 06h00-20h00).

Weskus Padstal is situated at the junction of the R27 and the R315 (at the turn-off to Yzerfontein).  The main building is an attractive thatched roof traditional Cape Dutch structure that was built in 1997.  The fully licensed a la carte menu of the restaurant on the premises features some unique local and other popular dishes.  A wide range of pottery and other souvenirs, locally made preserves, jams, confectionary, breads and liqueurs are available for the discerning buyer.  An extensive plant nursery specializing in indigenous plants offers the visitor a close encounter with West Coast flora.

“Evita se Perron” is a lively place to meet, eat, drink and talk.  It is from here that Mrs Evita Bezuidenhout, the most famous white woman in South Africa, keeps an eye on the progress of democracy.  She is the hostess and entertains in her own inimitable style.  The facilities at the Perron include Tannie Evita’s Pantry (restaurant) open from Tuesday to Sunday for breakfast and lunch, serving traditional South African fare.  Dinner is served when there are shows or for pre-booked functions.  Evita’s A & C (Arts & Crafts) features mainly West Coast and Swartland Crafts from handmade paper and olive soap to driftwood mirrors and frames.

These unique Galleries are situated in the square (Agora), behind the Marina Terrace overlooking the yachts and are home to the West Coast Art Guild and Artists of the West Coast.  “Agios Nikolaus” (Church of Saint Nicholas Patron Saint of Sailors) based on a typical Greek Chapel and found diagonally opposite “Bay Gallery”.  Artwork in oil, acrylic, watercolor, pastels, mixed media, sculpture and ceramics are exhibited.  Bay Gallery also stocks local crafts.
